Big Rock Sports “Shoot-Out” Event
Raises $60,000 for ASA and NSSF

Big Rock Sports recently hosted their 3rd Annual Shoot-Out Event at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC. The 2-day event on October 20th and 21st was coordinated to raise funds in support of the American Sportfishing Association and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

The American Sportfishing Association was formed in 1933 and represents the interests of America’s 60 million angler who generate over $45 billion in retail sales with a $125 billion impact on the nation’s economy creating employment for over one million people. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the shooting, hunting and firearms industry. Formed in 1961, the National Shooting Sports Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with a membership of more than 4,000 manufacturers, distributors, retailers, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers.

“The 3rd Annual Big Rock Sports “Shoot-Out” at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC far exceeded everyone’s expectations. With 80 plus people in attendance for the two-day event, everyone had an enjoyable time shooting clays at the Dewitt’s Gun Club, golfing at the Pinehurst Golf course, and bass fishing at Pinehurst Lake. Evening discussions over dinner and cocktails allowed for senior management of our industries’ top companies to trade ideas and discuss key issues facing the fishing and shooting sports industries.

Last but not least, the sporting clay, golf and fishing partner auction along with the live auction that featured outstanding hunting and fishing trips, unique collector quality guns, optics, shooting accessories, and other great auction items raised a grand total of $60,000 supporting the ASA and NSSF foundations,” commented Gary Zurn, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Big Rock Sports.”

Doug Painter, Senior Advisor and Trade Liaison of the National Shooting Sports Foundation and Mike Nussman, President and CEO and Gordon Robertson, Vice President of the American Sportfishing Foundation were on-hand to receive the donation from Big Rock Sports President and CEO, Ed Small.
